Anthropic Introduces New Safeguards to Reduce Data Theft from Model Distillation Attacks ↗

Anthropic has introduced new safeguards that reduce the amount of data stolen during model distillation attacks by approximately 90% to 99%, lowering the number of inference tokens extractable by distillation attackers to one-tenth to one-hundredth of the original amount; the system has a false positive rate below 0.1% and has already banned tens of thousands of related accounts; Anthropic cited Zhipu AI's attempt to distill Claude during the development of GLM-5.3 as an example of the risk.

Alibaba Qwen Launches Personal Agent "Qwen Go": Task-Oriented Agent Deployed in Real Apps ↗

Alibaba Qwen has launched its Personal Agent "Qwen Go," which supports real-world scenario tasks such as flight delay compensation, Taobao price protection, car maintenance appointments, sports venue reservations, and home appliance subsidy calculations. Case studies show that Qwen Go can autonomously log into airline platforms to check orders one by one without prior flight information, identifying a delay for China Eastern Airlines flight MU2445. It bypassed phone congestion by switching to the human customer service page, insisted on cash compensation, and successfully obtained 70 yuan transferred to Alipay. In the Taobao price protection case, it independently located a 52 yuan price drop for the "Sanhe uncoated titanium wok."

AI Editing Turf War: Where Did the Money Flow From Editors? ↗

The article analyzes industry changes triggered by AI editing: agents such as Claude Opus 5.5 can now autonomously complete voiceover synthesis, digital human driving, frame-by-frame pattern learning, and reusable Skill encapsulation; four groups of players—Jianying (CapCut), Adobe, Descript, and Runway—are competing for control over different stages of the video production workflow; pricing models are shifting from software subscriptions to billing based on AI credits, asset duration, and processing volume; however, AI editing tools face dual pressure from premium erosion due to the downward penetration of general-purpose agent capabilities and rising costs.

Is there a difference between fair use of AI and model distillation? — The power to define "learning" ↗

The article analyzes how in September 2026, the US Department of Justice supported OpenAI's claim that training constitutes "fair use" in copyright cases, while national security agencies characterized Chinese companies' API calls to distilled model outputs as "malicious theft," pointing out that although the two technologies share the same origin, their legal treatment is vastly different; the author argues that this double standard exposes the essence of the US allocating data rights based on industrial interests, and fails to address the fundamental question of whether model outputs should be protected by law.

Open-source project REA released: Enables AI agents to automatically perform reverse engineering ↗

The open-source project REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) has been released. Through the MCP protocol, it connects disassembly tools such as Ghidra and IDA to AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, enabling developers to use natural language instructions to have agents automatically reverse-engineer app functions and generate verifiable code. The project gained 78,800 new GitHub stars within one week of launch, bringing the total star count close to 100,000. A case study displayed on the REA homepage, involving the reverse engineering of DX-Ball sound effects, reconstructed 63 bytes of C code identical to the original version, passing 3,205 test groups. The project team states that it only supports legal reverse engineering research and reconstruction, and does not provide guarantees for infringing uses.

Dialogue with Dragonfly Partner Haseeb: Agents Don't Need Crypto, Humans Do ↗

In a PANews dialogue, Dragonfly partner Haseeb Qureshi noted that AI Agents have not relied on Crypto as the default payment layer as expected earlier this year, but have instead rapidly adopted card network solutions such as Visa, Mastercard, and Stripe. The true value of Crypto has shifted toward privacy protection, financial autonomy, and Agentic user experience; Agents will become the "Crypto Guy" for ordinary users, simplifying on-chain operations and enhancing due diligence capabilities; Privacy is key infrastructure for individuals to counter large-scale surveillance in the AI era; Hyperliquid is expanding into new markets rather than cannibalizing CEXs; Crypto is evolving from an independent sector into underlying infrastructure for finance and technology, and the classification of "Crypto VC" may disappear in the future.

The Money in Embodied AI Is Circulating Within the System ↗

Based on firsthand experience with dozens of embodied AI companies, Tech Xiangzi points out that there is a misalignment between the 'year one of mass production' and the 'year one of commercialization' in the current industry. A large portion of revenue comes from scientific research and education (73.6%) and financing-driven procurement, rather than industrial production line operating budgets. He proposes the concept of 'limited generalization,' advocating for focusing on narrow niches where traditional automation lacks economic viability in fixed spaces, times, and scenarios. He argues for achieving sustainable ROI through service-based models (RaaS) rather than simply selling hardware units, emphasizing that scenario definition capabilities are scarcer than general algorithms.

Hybrid Reasoning Agents: An Agent Architecture Fusing Latent Reasoning and Textual Interaction ↗

The paper introduces Hybrid Reasoning Agents (HybridAgents), which dynamically switch between textual interaction and latent space reasoning via the HybridLink module, maintaining mixed cross-turn context through continuous working memory. It also designs two post-training algorithms, HybridSFT and HybridRL. Across 3 model scales and 11 mathematical/scientific/medical/search/agent reasoning benchmarks, compared to state-of-the-art text-based and latent-based agents, it achieves an average performance improvement of 10.4%, a reduction in tokens of 35.5%–54.7%, a reasoning speedup of 1.8x–2.6x, and a cost reduction of 2.7x–3.7x; code and data are open-sourced at https://github.com/togethercomputer/HybridAgent.
