Bites Challenges Food Delivery Platforms by Connecting AI Agents Directly to Restaurants; DoorDash's Warning Letter Sparks Debate Over the 'DoorDash Problem' ↗

Startup Bites launched an AI-native food delivery service allowing users to order directly from partner restaurants via a ChatGPT plugin, bypassing third-party platforms like DoorDash. In August this year, DoorDash sent warning emails to multiple Bay Area restaurants, stating they might be listed on the Bites platform without consent and highlighting legal and operational risks. Bites adopts a $1 flat fee model, claiming it can reduce commission burdens for restaurants and prices for customers, and has already integrated with POS systems such as Toast and Square. The Verge tested the same order and found it approximately $13.56 cheaper on Bites than on DoorDash. This incident has been termed the 'DoorDash problem,' reflecting the fundamental impact of LLMs as new entry points on App/Web business models, advertising revenue, and control over customer data.

SWIFT blockchain ledger requires banks to build their own permissioned ledgers, digital wallets, and tokenization and smart contract capabilities ↗

SWIFT has launched a blockchain-based ledger supporting 7×24-hour cross-border settlement of tokenized deposits, but it serves only as an orchestration layer and does not replace banks' internal systems; Taurus co-founder Lamine Brahimi pointed out that banks need three proprietary capabilities to connect: permissioned chains, digital asset wallets, and tokenization and smart contract functions; HSBC, Standard Chartered, DBS, and Citigroup have already conducted pilots, with weekend cross-border payments completed in as little as a few minutes; SWIFT stated that 17 banks are preparing to launch tokenized-deposit transactions.

Technical Analysis of the Frequent Appearance of Pornographic and Gambling Ads in ChatGPT Session Titles ↗

Since 2024, ChatGPT has frequently generated fragments of pornographic and gambling advertisements in session titles. Through analysis of anomalous titles observed in testing, developer community cases, and tokenizer mechanisms, the author identifies the root cause as the o200k_base vocabulary containing numerous uncleaned ad-phrase tokens, combined with the inability of the title-specific inference model to reliably terminate generation. This leads the model to randomly sample output from the 'garbage room' of the vocabulary during the closing phase. The issue persists in GPT-4o and subsequent models, and has not yet been fundamentally resolved by officials.
