In a podcast, Anthropic tech leads Nicholas Marwell and Sholto Douglas noted that: within 18 months, AI coding has evolved from an auxiliary tool into a 'junior team member' capable of independently completing days-long tasks; model capabilities are rapidly expanding into fields such as mathematical discovery and life sciences; they oppose distillation because it merely replicates the frontier without driving next-generation breakthroughs, threatening the economic viability of massive training investments; they emphasize that the US-China AI race cannot be unilaterally paused; they advocate that open source requires safety thresholds, with closed and open-source models meeting equivalent safety standards; and they propose an 'exponential economic return on intelligence' model to explain their $2 trillion valuation logic—arguing that the value of truly frontier intelligence increases with marginal units rather than being commoditized.
Vercel Labs has released scriptc, an experimental TypeScript compiler that generates native executables without Node/V8 dependencies. It supports a three-tier strategy: static compilation, dynamic execution via --dynamic (embedding quickjs-ng), and compilation rejection. Benchmark tests show it is 12x faster at startup but 7.5x slower at runtime, with 72x lower memory usage and a binary size of only 370KB. It requires Node.js 24+ and is currently an experimental project under the Apache 2.0 license.
Cloudflare has migrated its main blog from WordPress to EmDash, an open-source CMS built in-house. The system is built with TypeScript, runs on Workers, supports Workers Cache and Workers KV caching, and connects to a PlanetScale database via Hyperdrive. It uses a proxy Worker to implement progressive traffic switching starting at 1% with automatic error rollback. Two new MCP servers have been added to support AI agents in browsing, editing, scheduling posts, and other operations on blog content.
Objective-See researcher Patrick Wardle disclosed an unpatched zero-day vulnerability in the Meta Muse macOS desktop client. The issue stems from an undisclosed configuration key, endo_voyager_dictation_endpoint, which allows non-privileged processes to modify the voice dictation endpoint, thereby hijacking audio streams and authentication tokens. Attackers can leverage this to perform prompt injection and steal local files or WhatsApp messages. Meta removed the debug key via a hotfix but did not follow the CVE process, characterizing it only as a local configuration issue requiring prior code execution.
InfoQ compiled and reported on an in-depth conversation between OpenAI researcher Noam Brown (one of the founders of o1 and subsequent reasoning models) and Dwarkesh Patel.
Brice Ménard, an astrophysicist at Johns Hopkins University and an Anthropic researcher, used Claude Science to construct the first complete ultraviolet all-sky map, covering far-ultraviolet (154 nm) and near-ultraviolet (232 nm). Approximately one-third of the regions were predicted and generated by Claude based on multi-source, multi-band data (visible light, infrared, radio) and inpainting techniques, with each pixel labeled as "measured" or "predicted" along with uncertainty estimates; this map has been made public and can be used for teaching and research.
Anthropic has launched an optional vulnerability scanning service called OSS Scanner, which uses its strongest language models (including Claude Mythos) to perform fully automated security scans on open-source projects without manual review, at no cost.
Anthropic released a 2026 usage policy update, effective November 12. It adds a section prohibiting participation in deceptive activities, focusing on election interference, fake accounts, and influence operations; rewrites election clauses to prohibit undermining democratic processes; clarifies prohibited scopes for weapon-related software, autonomous physical action hardware, and surveillance/law enforcement uses; refines 'human-in-the-loop' requirements for high-risk scenarios; adds a clause prohibiting persistent unwarranted abuse of models; and simultaneously clarifies enforcement details for supported regions.
Musk announced that Grok Bot will no longer rely solely on the Grok series of models but will instead automatically select the optimal backend model based on user tasks, including options like Claude Opus 5.5, Midjourney, and Suno. This bot is a persistent AI colleague launched by SpaceXAI, supporting multi-step task execution and continuous cloud operation, with a beta release scheduled for August 2026.
Russian retailer DNS has initiated its transition to a platform model. The seller backend now displays entry points for 28 product categories, covering apparel, footwear, cosmetics, household chemicals, pet supplies, and food; however, most non-core categories remain closed at present. Contract terms have been adjusted so that ownership of goods remains with the supplier until sale, with the platform charging a commission of 20% to 25%, which includes warehousing, logistics, and payment collection services. There is currently no paid promotion mechanism, and access to the backend remains invitation-only.
Starting November 19, Ozon will lower the penalty threshold for self-shipping error rates from 5% to 2%. Fines for delays and cancellations will be set according to four tiers: 2.1%-5%, 5.1%-10%, 10.1%-20%, and over 20%. The maximum fine per delayed order will increase from 1,000 rubles to 2,000 rubles, and the maximum fine per cancelled order will rise from 2,000 rubles to 4,000 rubles. In September, the cancellation fee rate for the 5.1%-10% tier was reduced to 4.5%, but less than two months later it was restored to 9%.
Termaxa is an open-source Rust tool that acts as a gatekeeper for hook paths in AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Copilot. It can preview files slated for deletion, automatically back them up, and decide whether to execute or reject operations based on user policies; it starts in observe mode by default, generating interception reports without blocking any operations.
Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake warned on X that AI-driven mathematical breakthroughs could break the ECDSA signature scheme before quantum computing becomes practical (Q-Day), stating that in the worst-case scenario it would take 'months rather than years.' He advised the industry to calmly initiate 'bunker mode,' migrating funds to new addresses with unexposed public keys, and pushing Ethereum to accelerate its transition to hash-based cryptography. He cited OpenAI's release of 722 AI mathematical results on Tuesday, noting that elliptic curve structures are particularly vulnerable to superintelligence.
Playwright v1.64.0 has been officially released, adding page.webmcp and frame.webmcp APIs to support experimental WebMCP browser tool calls; video recording now supports custom fps and CSS style decorations; the test runner adds testProject.default, --shuffle, test.describe.configure({ lock }), and toHaveScreenshot.type='webp'; new locator methods like locator.within() are introduced; APIs such as page.getByRef(), includeShadow, and signCount are expanded; includes multiple breaking changes, such as passing through device descriptors via the screen property, JSX compilation following tsconfig, and --update-snapshots=missing passing tests by default.
A joint paper by Google Research and NBER reports a three-month field experiment conducted at 11 intellectual property law firms: 133 lawyers were randomly assigned to use an unreleased Google Labs AI patent drafting assistant (later integrated into Gemini Notebook) or to receive AI training while being prohibited from using the tool.
Botscent is an open-source library developed by Nalin Bhardwaj for detecting AI agents accessing websites (such as Claude for Chrome, ChatGPT's agent, Codex, Muse, Manus, Devin, and Grok Bot) as well as crawlers and HTTP clients that declare their identity. It includes server-side validation (Web Bot Auth signatures, User-Agent tokens, verified-bot fields of hosts) and a 5 KB frontend script (checking automation flags, cloud browser characteristics, marker traces, and input when the page is hidden), returning a unified structure { type, agent_name? }.
Yongdeungpo Full Gospel Church in Seoul stated that names, dates of birth, resident registration numbers, phone numbers, and address change logs for its 850,000 members may have been stolen; information for approximately 89,000 members and 286 employees at another major Seoul church, Sarang Church, was also leaked.

Amazon Quick and Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases have introduced real-time Access Control List (ACL) validation. Through a dual-stage mechanism involving pre-check filtering (Stage 1) and real-time verification via authoritative source APIs such as Google Drive (Stage 2), this feature ensures that only authorized documents are fed into large language models to generate responses at query time. This solution addresses three major issues in traditional RAG: ACL replication distortion, permission latency, and difficulty adapting to evolving data sources.
